(TOP) Displaying creative flair and cutting-edge design, Santa Monica College student Mindy Bonaparte blows a kiss from the catwalk during the 24rth annual "LA Mode 2008 ~ Can't Stop Fashion" on Friday, May 2, 2008, at SMC. Mindy was modeling designer Shoko Nagadome's fashion creation and received honorable mention. (ABOVE) SMC students (L-R) Charlotte Ekstrom, 23, Tiffany Thompson, 24, and Paola,  model the "Fantasy" line during  the annual fashion show at SMC on Friday. The fasion show spotlighted students cutting-edge designs in four categories -Fantasy, After 5, Casual and Office/Career. 70-plus women's outfits  were shown by the students. All attire  was designed and created by approximate 25 fashion students. LA Mode 2008 was presented  by Santa Monica College’s Department of Fashion.

Paul Mitchell educator, Angie Spaulding, styles Rhiannon Aarons' hair on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in the mobile 'Elle Eco Salon & Spa' at the Third Street Promenade during Earth Day. To commemorate Elle's third annual "green" issue, which hit stands on Tuesday, April 15, the magazine has dispatched a biodiesel-fueled bus, outfitted as an eco-salon and spa, to various shopping areas and attractions in Southern California. From now till Sunday, May 4, you can enjoy complimentary styling, mini-makeovers, and beauty treatments, as well as samples of eco-friendly beauty products from sponsors such as Juice Beauty, Paul Mitchell, and Physicians Formula. Each guest will be able to climb onboard the bus for 10-to-20-minute treatments at one of the three styling stations.

Santa Monica College students from the Iranian Student Club sing and dance during the Iranian New Year Celebration (AKA Nowrouz) at SMC on Thursday, March 27, 2008. Nowrouz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the Iranian year. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox (start of spring), which usually occurs on March 21. Nowrouz has been celebrated for at least 2,500 years.

2006 National Figure Skating Champion Sasha Cohen, 23, gives an outstanding performances at 'Ice at Santa Monica' on Thursday, November 6, 2007, during its opening day. She also signed autographs and made a speech during opening day.  Cohen is currently headlining in the Stars on Ice tour.
