The American Red Cross of Santa Monica's Chairman of the Board, Ann Greenspun, honors celebrity TV chef, Nick Stallino with a giant engraved wine glass during the Red Tie Affair on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel. World famous celebrity chef, author and TV show host, Nick Stellino created a three-course gourmet dinner.  Stellino, considered to be one of the world's top chefs, served a pasta with pine nuts, raisons and tomato entrée, fish in red wine sauce main course and a chocolate zabaglione with marinated strawberry desert. Stellino hosts a number of highly successful cooking series on the Public Broadcasting System and is the author of seven best selling cookbooks on Italian and Mediterranean cooking.

John Pacheco, executive director of the Santa Monica Red Cross, discusses Tsunami Emergency  procedures and role plays many  possible scenarios relating to a Tsunami hitting Ocean Park. The Drill was staged at the Santa Monica Red Cross on Wednesday, May 24, 2006. The drill was performed in real time. All phone call were actually made by the staff, board members and volunteers of the Santa Monica Red Cross. They called many local agencies in order to coordinator relief efforts. "This is a facsimile drill...and...can we use your parking lot for 200 beds?" said Pacheco over a telephone line durring the drill.

Relief International - cultural exchange students from Bangladesh, MD Safiul Islam, 17, and Shucheta Shegufta, 15, paint on the Santa Monica Red Cross memorial mural on Thursday May 3, 2006. The eight exchange students from Bangladesh will be here for three weeks doing community service projects and participating in cultural exchange programs. Relief International stresses cultural exchange, community service, conflict and resolution and the development of leadership skills
